Jack Johnson is amazing, he definitely deserves it!

Anyone know why they have people like 50 Cent and D-12 on here for ROCK and roll hall of fame?

=P

Johnson does what he does very well. Cool buzz. No pretense, no grandiose ambition. I'd say his laid back "surfer" niche is very innovative - I sure don't hear anything else similar. I'll also bet his influence is rather powerful, if understated -- like his persona.
He's kinda like Paul Simon with a surfboard.

I love 'im.

Even a passing comparison between Jack Johnson and Paul Simon is an abortion. Seriously?
He doesn't make terrible music, but his music is not outstanding.

His music is quite alright. Not the most challenging, but definitely not worse than, say, James Taylor?

OK. For starters, Jack Johnson has done NOTHING for rock. I mean, this guy is almost children's music. There are song titles that make him sound like he's a children's artist. Examples: "Banana Pancakes", "Bubble Toes", "Upside Down" and "Flake". Those are not titles for rock songs. So, R&RHOF PLEASE DO NOT LET HIM IN!!
