I would say that George Strait should be in the rock and roll hall of Fame he has the most number 1 hits ever for a artist no matter if he is country because rap artists are let in and rap music is not rock and roll at all either legends like Neil sedaka and Johnny rivers are not in the rock and roll hall of Fame but several rap artists are and alot of them only had 1 or 2 number 1 hits some not any wake up rock hall put George strait in he's the most best selling artist ever not matter what his music is considered

Thought I had commented on ole George...Well, I saw Mr. Texas at last year's ACL down in Austin. He was the Friday night headliner. Played on the main stage. Didn't have a large crowd really till Miley's set finished. I was able to walk right up to about row 20. Crowd definitely older for his set (until the youths all showed up).

I would say he's the 'State Musician of Texas'. Probably has a proclamation to that effect. Loves his Cohiba tequila, which he flogged a few times during the set. He has a fine, mellow voice and played all his hits (and he has alot of hits). The older ladies absolutely love him. A sorta Country Tom Jones, if you will. They had some old film of him projected up behind him and his backing band and he was a very handsome dude back around 1978 or so.. Still is handsome, but weathered.

To me, not rock or roll at all. 1st ballot Country HOFer for sure.
