Best band in the world!

They should totally be in the Rock N Roll Hall of fame. Amy Lee has inspired thousands of young women to get into music.

Each of their 3 albums gets better and better.

They totally deserve to go in the Rock Hall of Fame!

William - you are a dip. Amy Lee really doesn't use voice manipulation technology. What you hear on the album is her real voice. Get a clue. She is an AMAZINGLY talented vocalist, pianist and composer. The new lineup of Evanescence is sicker than it has ever been. Every album matures well beyond the realms of the previous album yet still stays true to Evanescence. And for you to say Beth Gibbons > Evanescence, you do realize that Beth Gibbons is one of Amy Lee's biggest influences, right? Get a clue

This band is long dead, and any lee basically retired.....I wish she had been a solo artist from the beginning, all the post grunge bullshit ruined her artistry, want an example? Look up a YouTube video called "perfect rainy Sunday" , later titled "disappear" from the bands laterst album. post grunge bullshit turned a beautiful original melody (something hard to make these days) into a nasty piece of shit. It's sad really, all the emo middle schoolers who liked her music and forced her to keep it emo for them to sell have grown up and she is finally free to be a real artist, and now it has been half a decade since her (aka "evanescence's" since she is the only original member) last album. There is hope though, lyrics and legends will be releasing 2 epic performance sessions soon and she is venturing out into Celtic and electronic music and working on solo material will cellist David Edgar, if she can push out some classic slbums before she turns 50 she has a real chance of being inducted.

Streaming Masters – Evanescence

“If you’re in your thirties, you’ve probably sung like crazy over Bring Me To Life and My Immortal at some point during your teenage years. That’s true no matter where you are from.”

“More than 15 years after Evanescence‘s impressive breakthrough, what’s left of their legacy?”

Evanescence albums and songs sales

“Back in 2003, the Amy Lee-led band Evanescence took the world by storm thanks to the super smash hit Bring Me To Life. Everyone though the band was here to stay.”

“Their last top 10 hit was way back in 2006 yet and they haven’t even issued a proper album since 2011. How relevant really is the band then?”

Are they on an extended hiatus?

@ Paul

Nope, they’re working on another album right now, which it should come out next year.

BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!

Evanescence does belong in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame because she pioneered being a group in the hard metal rock genre with a lead front woman. Amy smashed the glass ceiling in succeeding selling over 24 million units so far. Even Nightwish, kinda in the same genre, with a front male and female singer, recieved a bump in sales with their 2004 album ONCE because of the success of Evanescence's Fallen. Since Evanescence, women lead singers now have been accepted in this genre of music. Amy has insired many! She has made a signifigant impact in rock music.

Fallen, at 17 million copies sold, was the highest selling album of any genre released in 2003.

It's now 2023, and as it turns it was the last rock album to ever be the Highest selling of a year. (Not counting one direction as rock)

Just a weird mark of times we are in as fallen turns 2 decades old this year. Without a doubt quite possibly the defining album of 2000s rock (mainly due to sales, matched only by linkin park). The open door and even their unofficial 1998 album Origin were better albums than fallen tho. I remember as a tween downloading the mp3 files from YouTube onto Napster of their 90s era, I still Have it . Was so inspired by the melancholy gothic ethereal vibe of origin. They really were doing something original in 98, I wish they would have stuck to those roots. Listen to a song like "field of innocence" or "listen to the rain" , simply chilling. the question is, is two defining albums of the 2000s rock scene worth induction? If the band hadn't fizzled out I'd say yes with certainty. In terms of 2000s rock bands would I put them Within the top 15? Yes I would. In about a decade don't be surprised if they get a nomination after linkin park is in, and check out their 90s demos on YouTube, some of the best chamber music gothic cool soft rock of the 90s, the origin era with young Lee and moody was totally a masterpiece.

On a separate note You need to add at least this bands first two albums to the essential albums section, and the 3 lead singles from it not just bring me to life, as well as the open door and it's singles call me when you're sober and lithium.

They are awesome and should be immediately put in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Also kick out of all the rap crap and country garbage. That is not rock n roll.
