Most bands that exist today don't belong in the Hall of Fame, they are all just lame copies of each other.

It is way too early to tell, but both of their full-legnth albums have been absolutely amazing. I can only hope they keep up this pace.

Too early to tell...they are getting more well-known though and have a huge-ass fanbase. Give it some more time.

They put on the second-best live show I saw this year.

It's killing me not knowing who was first!!!

TELL ME!!!

That would be the Sonic Youth concert I saw in October.

Spoon was third, Andrew Bird fourth, New Pornographers 5th.

Sounds good. I'm still pissed off about not being able to get tickets to the newly reformed Verve - apparently those two shows were AWESOME ;(

You saw Arcade Fire at the Austin City Limits concert, right Kit?

Far too early to tell, so I'm not going to vote. They seem like a relatively innovative group, so in 10 years, who knows what influence they'll have?

This is such a ridiculous claim. So you're telling me that The Dave Clark 5 weren't A LOT like the Beatles? That's just the first example that popped into my head.

With that said, though, who the hell else does the Arcade Fire sound like??

Let's see...Bowie, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, U2 and Talking Heads, to name just a few.

Not dissing the group, but come on...

Arcade Fire is now appearing in TV guide's crossword puzzles! I am not quite sure what that means?

i think these guys will be eligible in 2028? they released an EP in 2003 that was then re-released in 2005.

Too early to tell, but "Funeral" is one of the best albums I've ever heard. If they put out many more even close to it's level, they should be a shoo-in.

Its funny that you should say that Chalkie because I am listening to "Funeral" right now. This is like the 4th time I have listened to it and I like it a little more everytime!

Third album's made them a household name. Everywhere you go now, you hear their name...the band is on it's way to bigger stuff

Saw them play at Bonnaroo on Friday night. Played for about 2 hours, including a double encore. Great set. They really put on a show.

Just before they went on, before about 50,000 or more, there were 4 unmanned gliders up in shy that each released hundreds of little diodes connected to streamers. Each diode flashed blue or purple. It looked like the gliders were trailed by pixie dust which then fell to earth in a blinking blue/purple rain. You had to see it to believe it.

If they keep at this same quality then definitely. Hell, the first three albums might be enough to get them in when their time comes.

I can't quit playing "Reflektor" . Arcade Fire won 2013.

DarrinRG, hope you get to see them live someday. I expect they will headline several major festivals next year as they promote Reflektor.

I haven't got album yet, but I soon will.

I think Arcade Fire will be inducted in the RRHOF around 2030. Theyre one of the few newer groups where people gush about their music & concerts.

They have another 14 yrs before induction but they sure are on a Hall of Fame pace. KING

SPOILER ALERT:

Arcade Fire and Kanye West will both be first ballot hall of famers. 2029 will be one heck of an induction ceremony!

Posted by Alec on Saturday, 04.11.15 @ 00:24am

How is Sprawl II not on the essential songs?
and anyways they'll be 1st ballot HoFers because by 2028 the hall'll be out of "classic" acts to induct.

Essential songs are determined by the Song Project (a forum project where members participate in a voting process). Click on the link at the left to read more - we could always use more participants!

Saw Arcade Fire close the 2016 Voodoo Fest in NOLA, on a warm & beautiful Sunday night. Their set was criminally unattended, as the youths headed down to see Chainsmokers, who played at same time on EDM stage.

Those idiots!!! I have seen both acts & the freaking Chainsmokers aren't even in same area code as this band! I was a bit tired & sat in ADA area (had nice unobstructed view), but if I had wanted to I think I could have gotten 10th row (this is when showing up 10 mins before start of their set).

1st time I had seen them since 2011 & they played several songs from Reflektor, interspersed with greatest hits. Wonderful show by a wonderful band!
