The so-called Rock and Roll Hall of Flame is a joke, it seems to be run by ignorant journos and academics who assume r'n'r began in the Sixties. Larry's in good, exclusive, excluded, company: with Connie Francis, Paul Anka, Conway Twitty, Chuck Willis, etc. Gene Vincent was only inducted after Pete Seeger, who hated rock'n'roll. Wanda Jackson, who with Connie and Brenda Lee were the great trio of white rock'n'roll female singers, was entered only as an "influence". Such BS. And If you're British before the Beatles, forget it. Cliff Richard, the Shadows, Billy Fury, Johnny Kidd, Shakin' Stevens, were and are as good as most of the "inductees" . The best way to treat this Hall of Shame is not to take it seriously.. Jack Scott made a delicious response by bringing out an album of his many hits titled what? - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
