I don't understand why The Miracles weren't inducted with Smokey Robinson

Nobody does. I can't believe they still haven't corrected their mistake. It's like inducting Diana Ross, but not The Supremes.

It's like how they inducted Paul McCartney but not Wings. They're emphasizing the frontman.

The Miracles should've gone in with Robinson.

The Miracles started the entire Motown phenononon...long before The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops , and all the other Motown acts were ever even HEARD of.Their historical importance and worldwide influence CAN'T BE DENIED, No matter WHAT the RRHOF says. The BEATLES ,STONES,HOLLIES ZOMBIES,THE WHO, and many other British Invasion groups were influenced by,them, and covered their tunes , not to mention artists from EVERY DIFFERENT MUSICAL GENRE. You BET they should be in !! Only STUPIDITY and POLITICS has kept them out. What's more, the Induction Committee is going to look really STUPID if they continue to deny The MIRACLES induction after they just got a STAR on THE HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME this past March. They view them as a deleted footnote. Only artists that have reached the PINNACLE of show business success are even CONSIDERED for a STAR ...something that would have NEVER been bestowed upon a group that is a "DELETED FOOTNOTE" .

.....What's more, out of ALL of the 60's MOTOWN GROUPS,THE MIRACLES were the ONLY ONES that wrote their own material....THE OTHERS DIDN'T.(and they wrote for most of the others too, especially The Temptations). ALL of the group did the writing... but only Smokey got the credit. EVERY member of the MIRACLES is a winner of the BMI award FOR SONGWRITING...NOT JUST SMOKEY.

No one can disagree with you.

I can disagree Damoen. Get over it BILL G, it would take a miracle for the Miracles to get in. Not gonna happen.

While I don't disagree with Bill, I wanna point out that Stevie Wonder also wrote a lot of his own stuff, and he was on Motown during the 60's.

Ah, I see. Sorry, when you discuss music this much, you pretty much get sick of differentiating between artists and groups, and you use the two terms interchangeably. Or just call them all "acts."

That's OK, Philip I can see the reason for the confusion . If you check statistics between the not-inducted MIRACLES , and 2 inducted groups , the IMPRESSIONS and the recently inducted IMPERIALS (both of which rank among my favorite groups), you see that THE MIRACLES' accomplishments ,worldwide level of influence, and historical importance OUTSHINE BOTH OF THE OTHERS. Their songs are still being sung, recorded , and played today ,over 40 years later . They are one of those "no-brainer" groups that everyone assumed should ALREADY BE IN. So...why AREN'T THEY ?

Could've sworn I saw a page for the Tielman Brothers around here, evidently I was wrong.

I think that Neil Sedaka should be put into the Hall. I think his work and contribution to Rock and Roll is very important.

The Penguins should be moved to 1979 because their first recording was issued in May of 1954 (No There Ain't No News Today/When I Am Gone).
