Nominations are now open for this month's genre vote, "British Invasion - Second Wave (1979-1988)".

Each voter can nominate two albums that they feel belong in this genre vote.

If you feel that an album has been nominated for this genre inappropriately, please lodge a protest and explain why the album isn't eligible. Any album that receives three protests will be disqualified from this genre vote.

There will be two days of nominations and one day of review (albums can still be nominated on the third day, but please be sure that the song you nominate is unquestionably eligible for this genre).

Nominations / review will end at 10 PM Central on Tuesday the 19th. Nominations will still be accepted until 11 PM Central on Tuesday the 19th, when voting begins.

About Revisited Projected Rankings, Darren wrote:
Since 5 out of the 12 current votes were cast before we knew that James Brown and Nirvana were eligible for the tiebreaker, I think it's only fair that we extend the voting until Sunday at 10 PM / 11 PM to give these 6 voters the chance to either update their ballot or state that they don't intend to do so:

AlexVoltaire
Darrin A.
Donnie
Nicky Joe
Roy Gerald Bivins

If the updated votes / notifications haven't been received by the deadline, would anyone be opposed to including James Brown (who finished 8th in our previous rankings) in the Final Rankings tiebreaker (fyi, Nirvana finished 18th)?

Only the 10 artists that received the most points in the Final Rankings would be ranked, so James Brown would still have to finish in the top ten in the final rankings to be ranked in Round 1, if we had to do it this way.

Roy Gerald Bivins - Your ballot included Ray Charles and U2, who weren't eligible for the vote. I moved up the eligible artists in your rankings accordingly.

Also, I didn't include your vote(?) for Stevie Wonder, as it was at the bottom of the list, but ranked with (15) points, the same as Johnny Cash. You can update your rankings before the deadline if you like.

My two biggest snubs are Janis Joplin and Billy Joel who would both easily make it into my Top 15. Other high ranking snubs for me include Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, and John Lennon who would all probably make my Top 15 to 20.

I thought about the posting of votes a day before and kinda understand why they are used - in case votes are missing and could potentially set our dates back if a problem occurs. Not a big fan of it but I get why others find it useful.

I missed The_Claw's vote for Nirvana as well. I'm going to have to re-count the nominations and start the tiebreaker voting again if necessary. I'll try to get that done today.

My apologies for my mistakes. Even with using a spreadsheet to calculate the results, there's always the possibility of human error in tabulating so many results.

If you haven't voted already, please include James Brown in consideration for your rankings.

If you have voted already, please tell me where James Brown should be in the rankings you've already posted. Which performer should he be above in your rankings, which performer below?

Because of the confusion, I'll extend the voting by a day. Voting will now end at 10 PM Central (votes accepted until 11 PM Central) on Saturday the 16th.
