This is pretty much my only predictions on next year's nominations so far.

Nominees

Beck - A singer songwriter still active & expect him back by next year.

Mariah Carey - A second nomination would be different for the singer.

Coldplay - A possible FYN inductee plus a headliner for the 40th anniversary.

Daft Punk - Electronic music pick would end up being Kraftwerk as side category honorees.

Melissa Etheridge - Next year's Sheryl Crow.

Iron Maiden - A third time's a charm for them & more metal to be represented.

Joy Division/New Order - Lack of post punk/new wave this year would be the speculation for their comeback.

Lenny Kravitz - Way too well - known to not make a return.

Cyndi Lauper - Cher's induction would be the turning point for Lauper.

OutKast - Tribe is now in so let focus on this duo for the honor.

The Replacements - A band being left out of ballots for 10 years would make an reentrance on the list.

Diana Ross - Would become the 4th woman to receive the "double induction" award.

Soundgarden - May become the new Rage Against the Machine with few more tries or third times a charm.

Snoop Dogg - Will receive an nomination yet would get passed over for OutKast.

Thin Lizzy - A dual classic/hard rock rock pick for the old audience.

War - Following the Spinners & Kool & The Gang as the next classic R&B act to get fully recognized.

Potential Nominees for Class of 2025

Iron Maiden
Mariah Carey
Soundgarden
Coldplay
Luther Vandross
Outkast
Garth Brooks
Joy Division/New Order
Phil Collins
Smashing Pumpkins
The White Stripes
Fela Kuti
Beck
New York Dolls

I wanted to include far more rnb/pop artists like Patti LaBelle, Boyz II Men and Diana Ross but I feel like those slots were already full with Mariah and Luther and it always helps for induction if the field isnt too crowded for acts in those genres.

None of those artists are more influential than Mary is in music. She changed the sound and image of R&B forever with her debut album. Their careers also aren't better than Mary's. She sold more albums, has more hit songs, and Grammy's than all of them. Instead of attacking Mary, maybe hold the RRHOF accountable for not inducting those artists years ago, and inducting rappers in their first week year of eligibility. Mary has been eligible for 7 years, and is finally inducted.

I apologize if someone has already made this point, I didn't read through all of the comments made so far. But what is the deal with putting Jimmy Buffett in as Musical Excellence? Buffett has long been on my snubs list, but using that back door without ever even trying to get him in through nomination first? Weird. I bet he would have been voted in as a Performer if they had just nominated him. I do like how they have been using the Musical Excellence to get artists in like Kraftwerk who are foundational but the voters are just too stupid to understand that. But Buffett? He would have gotten votes. And deservedly so, even though I'm not a huge fan, when you create a whole subculture around your music, that is some influence.

Glad to see they continue to put in important blues artists, but I have long said they need to get Sonny Boy Williamson in there as well.

It is a travesty that he is 83 and still touring all over the world with his voice intact, and still no induction. He can sing any genre, including rock and roll, duet with any other singer and outshine them vocslly. SO UNFAIR and makes me wonder what is WRONG with people who decide on the nominees. It makes me so sad for this unbelievably talented singer and performer. NOMINATE him!!!!!

Now that the new class has been announced which acts do you think benefit the most?

For example this is what I think

A Tribe Called Quest- Now that they're in Outkast hopefully won't be far behind or maybe they take a shot at De La Soul.

Ozzy Osbourne- Try Iron Maiden again, though another easy win would be Ronnie James Dio via Musical Excellence.

Foreigner- Boston or Bad Company might be next

Peter Frampton- Same as Foreigner.

Dave Matthews Band- Hopefully Phish

Cher- Among female soloists of the past maybe Roberta Flack or Diana Ross solo?

Mary J. Blige- Also Roberta Flack but if they want to go with solo R&B maybe Luther Vandross. Since she's the queen of Hip-Hop/Soul maybe Queen Latifah or Salt n' Pepa?

Kool & the Gang- War perhaps?

Dionne Warwick- Same as Cher plus maybe the Carpenters if they want to go mellow.

MC5- Who are we kidding? New York Doll for a side category can't be far behind

Jimmy Buffet- I see this filling the boomer singer/songwriter slot that the Hall loves so maybe John Denver or Harry Nilsson?

Big Mama Thornton- Hard to say where they go with Influence but Memphis Minnie anyone?

I think Alanis made some enemies when she ditched the rock hall induction of Carly Simon because she sees the obvious sexism in its institution. With that being said, Sinead having one American hit shouldn't be a detriment. If the hall thinks that's her only claim to fame in America then she wouldn't have been nominated in the first place. I mean, Amy Winehouse is one of the most iconic singers now years after her death, but if you asked someone who isn't a huge fan of her music if they can name a song besides Rehab, they'll more than likely give you a blank look.

After these Inductees these are the biggest indicators in order I think can be used for who will be nominated and inducted into the RRHOF.

1. Industry Acclaim & Connections (Accolades, RRHOF Ceremony Appearances/Performances, Collaborations with artists already inducted, Featured on Rolling Stone and VH1 Greatest lists, etc)

2. American Impact: Foreign artists still have a harder time getting in no matter how successful and critically acclaimed they are. The Smiths still aren't in, it took Kate Bush featured on Stranger things for voters to finally put her in, etc.

3. Album sales & acclaim: The hall values artists who have consistently produced influential albums that been both critically acclaimed, and have garnered lots of sales. Everyone inducted usually has at least all their albums at least gold and at least one platinum album or higher.

Popularity among fans doesn't matter, the main factor is how much the inner circle loves you. Iron Maiden has a ton of fans and can still hold arena tours in the US, but they are nowhere near being inducted, as Maiden is isolated from inner circle people.

The induction of the Dave Matthews Band makes me wonder if Iron Maiden will be voted in next time. Both acts are similar: big album sellers with almost no pop hit singles, and both have huge cult fan groups. Iron Maiden will have a big tour this year, which could help their chances. Some industry voters might consider voting for them since Maiden is expected to generate substantial revenue. However, one disadvantage for Maiden is that metal is still not favored by the Hall (Ozzy was inducted mainly due to his star power), whereas DMB, with its roots music influence, might be more acceptable to voters.

About the 2024 Inductees, JE wrote:
Few things I need to say about this class.

1. There's a lot of classic rock field being represented with Foreigner, Peter Frampton & Jimmy Buffett selected as inductees. This means the rock crowd can finally stop bitching about how the Hall doesn't listen to them complaining about rappers, country stars & anyone else they don't like being honored. Heck we can stop letting in acts from the era so lets focus on modern artists for their consideration.

2. A very populist class just like 2022. Remember when inductions are based on artistic merits, legacy star power & true impact in the music industry, well this is the complete opposite of what I'm pointing out. Nowadays it's about whether you're popular with fans is what it takes to be included which I find it to be ridiculously laughable.

3. Now Tribe is officially inducted, it means they're off the ballot & it finally opened the door for others including OutKast, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul etc.

4. Post punk/new wave is nowhere to be found unfortunately & I thought it would be the case for Devo alas it wasn't meant to be. Maybr next year the genres would make a return on the ballot, however let's save that discussion for another time.

5. Ozzy Osbourne is now the 27th artist to have a double induction joining the ranks of the Beatles, Eric Clapton among others.

Overall, this year isn't necessarily bad in any means it just feels lackluster. Maybe the next ballots would be better.
