Yo La Tengo sure as Hell deserve it, but I cannot ever imagine the Hall being hip enough to vote them in.

I was all set to argue with you, and then I realized what day you posted. Ha ha. Joke's on me. Well played.

I have to vote yes for them, cause anyone associated w/Casey Stengel deserves note.

honored to be the fourth to post

"Criteria include the influence and significance of the artist's contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll."

Great band. Emphatic yes.

Very deserving. But they might be too cool to make it in though.

I like these guys a bit (even though I like Big Head Todd & the Monsters (a similar band) a little more).

Now, that being said, can we quit making stupid comments like "they might be too cool to make it in"? Even though the HoF has inductees that most view as "questionable", there are artists in there who pretty much invented "cool" who this band will never touch...

So like... James Brown, the old bluesmen, Leonard Cohen and... that's it. YLT are cooler than everyone else in the Hall, unless Tom Waits makes it in this year.

Hey! This would make a groovy section/thread: "Coolest artists in the hall/not in the hall".

For not in the Hall I nominate the Jesus & Mary Chain, Wire and Suicide.

One of the truly great bands of the last 25 years.

Saw this band at Bunbury. Very interesting set. 3 piece band that puts out a great amount of music. Lead guitarist can really play. Other 2 musicians play a variety of instruments as well.

Their music sorta reminded me of Phish. Maybe with a bit harder edge to it.
