I have thought about this and people really have no idea how good Wings was. I have a list on rate your music of the 6300+ greatest songs ever. Hardly any artists have more than Wings (and all of them first ballot hall of famers): Beatles, Paul McCartney solo, Rolling Stones and the Kinks.

Here's the thing: I do think many people simply think of Wings as Paul McCartney's backing band. I don't think the Hall wants to let Linda McCartney in at all, at there really isn't a large ground swell of support for them.

The thing they have going for them? Paul McCartney. Always a big day at the induction ceremony if you can have a Beatle involved...unfortunately, Paul hasn't been too cool with his previous nominations so that might not go as far as you would hope.

I predict that Wings will remain the most successful recording artists not in the Hall for many decades. They will not get in until after Paul dies.

Maybe I'm Amazed, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, Hi Hi Hi, Girls School, Venus and Mars/Rock Show, Coming Up, Jet, Helen Wheels, Junior's Farm, Daytime NIghtime Suffering, Beware My Love, 1985, Time to Hide, Spin It On, Don't Let It Bring You Down, Let Me Roll It, No Words, Deliver Your Children, C Moon, Mangneto and Titenium Man, She's My Babby, I've Had Enough, To You, Old Siam Sir, Getting Closer, Silly Love Songs, Listen to What the Man Said, My Love, Goodnight Tonight, So Glad to See You Here, Rockestra Theme...

During his epic Bonnaroo set, Paul McCartney played 5 Wings songs: Maybe I'm Amazed, Live and Let Die, Band on the Run, Silly Love Songs, Listen to What the Man Said

Wish he had played Helen Wheels & Jet. Did get 27 Beatles songs though :-)

If Denny Laine doesn't get inducted with the Moody Blues, he'll be inducted with Wings. If the Moody Blues and Wings are inducted the same year and Denny Laine is only inducted with Wings then during his speech he should tell the Rock Hall that he should have been inducted with the Moody Blues as well!! I think he'll be inducted with both.

Send a tweet to Paul McCartney. Tell him to tell the Rock Hall to induct Wings, the way he told them to induct Ringo Starr.

Denny Laine doesn't think Wings will be inducted. He obviously doesn't know about the sidemen/musical excellence category.

Wings were a great band in their own right, but they will probably have to settle for being part of Paul McCartney's solo career.

Wings on 50th anniversary: Yes, we should be in the R&R Hall of Fame, but we won't perform without Linda McCartney
