I sure love their song 'Red, Red Wine'. Fine music to get happy drunk on. Don't think they have the amount of excellent material to get in.

My dad hates that song actually but loves most of their music. Their first album is some of the most gorgeous reggae ever recorded, but no they probably don't qualify.

Using the GFW-formula on Hall of Fame worthiness:

Innovation: Their reggae pop and dub style features psychedelic rock guitar and saxophones. So they've got some going for them. 10

Influence: Their actually one of the most well-known and commercially successful reggae acts ever, so in pure name recognition I'm sure they've inspired others. They're collaborated with Madness and Afrika Bambaataa. I think 808 State actually cites them. 10

Commercial success: They've sold over 70 million records worldwide which is a lot, but on top of that they're one of the most commercially successful reggae acts of all time and also have had chart success. 30

Critical acclaim: Their pretty respected. Signing Off was met with critical acclaim. 15

Total: 65

Conclusion: They deserve consideration for the Hall.

The ext original song the perform will be their first. I do like their sound in general and own several comps and CDs but you can't possibly think of including this faux-gae band in when originals like TOOTS, Tosh, legendary 60's pop-reggae star, Johnny Nash, to name a few Jamaican kings.

Security Question:

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
