Personally, I like Twisted Sister a heck of a lot more than both AC/DC and KISS combined. Of course, the induction of KISS will most certainly open up the doors for the nomination and/or induction of Twisted Sister. Dee Snider and Jay Jay French and company should be proud. Personally, I think that Dee Snider, or possibly all of the members of Twisted Sister should induct KISS into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. What do you, think? ;-)

Hell yeah!! Not much could overshadow a KISS induction but a Dee Snider induction speech just might! They could do for KISS what Grohl and Hawkins did for Rush.

Yes definitely, Tom H.

Plus all of the members of Twisted Sister could be dressed in their extremely ugly drag queen regalia, to boot!

Is Twisted Sister not the offspring of AC/DC and KISS? ;-)

In my honest opinion, not only is Twisted Sister, the offspring of AC/DC and KISS, but they are infinitely more talented than either of those other bands would ever claim to be! ;-)

In addition to their outrageous "very ugly drag queen" image, the members of Twisted Sister could actually play their instruments, with some level of proficiency. Twisted Sister also gave the rock world two universal anthems to help calm the angst of disenfranchised adolescents: 'We're Not Gonna Take It' and 'I Wanna Rock.'

Plus, the band had faced an uphill battle to even become recognized, in the first place. After reaching a pinnacle of success and recognition, however they had imploded like many other bands.

Unlike many other bands however, they have returned.

AC/DC has been in the RRHOF for quite a while now. Now that KISS has joined them; is it possible that Twisted Sister could be next?

Probably not. Twisted Sister & Quiet Riot were there in the early 80's, but most folks associate the L.A. metal scene with the Bon Jovi/Cinderella/Poison sorts that came down the pike right afterwards. That or else Def Leppard, but for sound only, & not geography.

TS paved the road ever so briefly, only to get plowed over by what came down that road. I wouldn't mind seeing them in, but I'm not sure it'll happen anytime soon.

Although, I still think that the induction of Twister Sister is still several years away, I think that the induction of KISS bodes well for them? What do you think?

A.J. Pero RIP

Rest in peace, A. J. Pero.

Of all the remaining hard rock bands not yet in, I feel that Twisted Sister is definitely worthy of immediate induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, along with Deep Purple.

I would say NO to Twisted Sister RRHOF. An example you can't put every group in the Hall. Believe Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Iron Maiden Judas Priest etc will be elected before Twisted Sister. That's just the truth...Did like Dee Snider as a singer. KING

The Pointer Sisters No
The Andrews Sisters No
Twisted Sister No
The Andrews Sisters Yes
The McGuire Sisters Yes

One of these sisters is not like the other

Has anybody here ever seen the comedic musical, “Rock Of Ages?” Well, morbid curiosity on my part had encouraged me to purchase the extended version on BluRay last week. In any event, it features two Twisted Sister songs, the anthemic: ‘I Wanna Rock’ and ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It,’ both penned by Dee Snider. Now, with the new singles category being added to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, it is now possible for artists like Twisted Sister to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame through this new “back door.”

It’s true that an induction of Twisted Sister is somewhat highly unlikely as an actual entity, but an induction of their two singles may be possible and for many faux metal bands, this might be the way that other bands, such as Poison get in. Well, what do you think?

AWWW HELL NO!!!

Posted by Martin on Tuesday, 05/8/2018 @ 10:52am

Of all the 80’s hard rock bands from “hair metal” world, Motley Crue and Def Leppard will be the only ones left to get an induction in the next few years, and that’s it.

I also agree with ya, Enig. I could see Ratt end up being on the “back door” too.

Dee Snider does not think Twisted Sister belongs in the HOF.

Dee Snider doesn't believe that TWISTED SISTER deserves to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He told SiriusXM's "My First Time" in a new interview (hear audio below): "People go, 'Oh, you think you should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame?' [And I go] 'No'. 'What do you mean no? Everybody thinks…' 'No.' I'm honest enough to say we had a moment. But it seems like that moment, and maybe what I did in Washington" — referring to the time in 1985 when he found himself giving testimony to the United States Senate's Committee on Commerce in a congressional hearing on "record labeling" — "that moment, and maybe when I created what became 'Headbangers Ball', which was an important show in the metal community… It was originally called 'Heavy Metal Mania'. It was my idea. I called MTV, pitched them, they bought it. 18 months I hosted it till I asked for money, and they said, 'We don't pay money.' I was, like, 'Well, I'm not doing this for free anymore.' And then it became 'Headbangers Ball'. So a respect, over the years, has come, and it's nice that people are appreciating me.”

The Dude,

Dee Snider is obviously very humble about Twisted Sister’s accomplishments and overall relevance in the world of Rock & Roll. If you watch the “Behind The Music” episode on Twisted Sister, you may find it both informative and slightly hilarious. With the “Rock on TV” exhibit at the Rock Hall and the recently inaugurated Singles category, their anthemic rock songs: We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” could possibly be inducted under the Singles Category at some point in the near future. Although an actual induction of Twisted Sister may not occur for several years, if at all. Still, I think that it would be interesting to place them on the Nominees list and see how they would fare. What works in their favor- the recent induction of Deep Purple and highly regarded prog metal drummer, (formerly of Dream Theater) - Mike Portnoy joining them on their final tour, after the passing of former drummer A. J. Pero.

Roy

Single-Handedly Humiliated Congress For The Whole World To See.

What nonsense!

Go watch the movie

What about Frank Zappa and John Denver.

I respect Dee Snider for being a part of speaking out against what Tipper Gore was doing, but it was John Denver who humiliated them because he spoke out against them and they actually thought he would support them.

Also, on their third episode of their “Hall Watchers” podcast, ‘Screaming for Vengeance: Our Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Candidates,’ Twisted Sister had been mentioned as a wildcard by Mary. 🤔

Is Twisted Sister, prog glam metal, or are they prog hair metal?
You decide.

Neither they don't have any prog influences what so ever.

@ Greg F

I'm pretty sure Enig was just joking for the laughs lol. The closest band I could think of that was an 80's glam band with some prog influences is Winger.

Groups in front of Twisted Sister for RRHOF. 1. Iron Maiden 2. Judas Priest 3. Motley Crue 4. Motorhead 5. Bad Company 6.Slayer 7. Scorpions 8.Ozzy Osbourne 9. Megadeth 10.Queensryche 11. Quiet Riot 12. Whitesnake 13.RATT 14. Tesla 15. UFO 16. DIO 17. Anthrax 18. Thin Lizzy 19. Poison 20. Stryper. That's a quick 20. Don't see Twisted Sister as PROG but Queensryche I think had PROG to their work. Could not see Twisted Sister nominated in the next 10 years.

By 2021-2022- Bad Company, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motley Crue hopefully are inducted. After that Motorhead, Ozzy, Scorpions, Slayer, possible. KING

I don't know about Twisted Sister that much, but until bands like Quiet Riot get inducted, Twisted Sister won't. Twisted Sister was essentially a OHW, even though I must admit their hit songs are quite addictive. I do hope that they get inducted soon in the future. It's been long enough.
