25 comments so far (post your own)Triumph had some powerful songs & good sound.I agree with the other posters that they didn't have enough commercial success & there are too many bands in front of Triumph. It's one of those cases where not every band can sneak into the RRHOF. KING Posted by KING on Thursday, 01/30/2014 @ 12:37pm |
They had too much air time for me,( Grad HS in 1980)...but there music was spot on live and made me a fan after seeing them live...reminds me of modern day foo fighters. Ok wouldn't run out and buy an album or cd but watching them live they are talented enough and put on great shows and should be nominated.Journey is no better........plus I'm partial to the bands with 3 musicians that sound tighter and louder than 4 or more! NWA (seriously?), Run DMC and Cheap Trick are in but not Triumph? That's a travesty. Posted by wade haskell on Thursday, 03/22/2018 @ 00:39am |
What I can't understand is why rhythm and blues\pop music legends are taking the spotlight off Rock legends who deserve to be in the RNR hall of fame. Let there be a rnb\pop h.o.f. Then all of the bell-bottom, leisure suit wearing brethren can shake their booties while our leather, denim clad rockers can rock out! Posted by LavaSmokeChile on Tuesday, 04/2/2019 @ 23:22pm |
Come on Triumph headlined the US Festival in '83 ! I mean if "The Cure" is good enough, then, PLEASE! Posted by Rob on Saturday, 06/29/2019 @ 13:52pm |
Triumph is very worthy for the Hall Of Fame!! No way they should get snubbed. Rik Emitt, best if our time!!! Posted by Warren on Friday, 01/24/2020 @ 14:26pm |
Nope, it won't happen. Triumph Is one of the weakest spots for prog; they're far from being important as Jethro Tull, ELP, Procol Harum, and King Crimson. Posted by The Dude on Saturday, 03/7/2020 @ 09:54am |
Triumph is definitely good enough and should definitely be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame it's time to do this. Posted by ARNOLD NUZZI on Saturday, 05/16/2020 @ 00:11am |
I have a difficult time reading the negative posts. Triumph had a string of hits, including Magic Power, tears in the Rain, Fight the good fight, Lay it on the line. Just to name a few. They were a three man band who's technical was beyond the vast majority of their peers. Also, their concerts were a sight to see. The use of lighting for each song, smoke, and other effects were way ahead of their time. How long did it take the Canadian Band Rush to even get get nominated, to me the same thing is happening to triumph. Heck, they even opened the US band back in 1983. I have have played in several bands. Music has been a huge part of my life..And I know awesome music when I hear it. Oh, by the way, I am not Canadian. It is a joke who has gotten in before them but you know they probably don't care. If you are popular and at the AMA awards you are most likely a a top 40 suck up with little to no talent. Truimph and the rest of us who understand talent see it not as a snub the reality of bad music on radio nobody listens too. As Rik Emmitt said, "Who cares"... thats right my friend. I was first influenced by Triumph in high school. Heard them on the radio, live from LA with host Geno Mitcholini. I think that's how you say it. I was hooked and hooked many of my high school friends. For me, Triumph was an inspiration. I would listen before every ball game to get pumped up. The powerful positive content was infectious not to mention the instrumentation and vocals coming just 3 guys. I also liked the mix of style selections on every album. Rik would usually throw in a classical piece. I later started a three man band with me on lead vocals and guitar. I have every album. The longevity, talent and live performances has me sold. Guess I'm biased. Posted by Billy Hester on Thursday, 04/15/2021 @ 19:10pm |
Triumph...absolutely Posted by Bob Fulmer on Friday, 06/4/2021 @ 04:31am |
I think Triumph deserves to be in for sure. Their stage show was incredible. They headlined at US festival in 1983. Their songs promoted positivity and gave people hope when times were dark. They were respectable band members. I would put them above some of the others that have got in! No I am not Canadian , I am an American girl! Yes. Triumph should definitely be in the RRHoF. Check out the new documentary, Triumph: Rock and Roll Machine, and you'll probably agree! Posted by j on Wednesday, 03/9/2022 @ 22:46pm |
They have like 18 Gold albums and 9 Platnum.... Not to mention that they are in my opinion one of the best live bands of the 70's and 80's. If they judged on musical merit they should already be in. Posted by Brian on Sunday, 03/13/2022 @ 08:17am |
One of Canada most influencial Bands. No other group made music like them. Very inspirational, and rocking.Played large Concert Venues of 300,000. Should have been in the Hall Of Fame a long time ago. Posted by Paul on Saturday, 03/26/2022 @ 12:29pm |
All I can say is they are awesome. Their singing was unbelievable. To not be in yet simple shows you the stupidity of the RRHF. Posted by Troy on Tuesday, 05/17/2022 @ 06:17am |
They should be there , no brainer , their songs and albums were and still are loved by a world wide fan base . Posted by Joe on Monday, 09/26/2022 @ 12:53pm |

Damn right Triumph deserves the RNR HOF but like Rik says (maybe) 'who cares'. Great music and musicianship speaks for itself. Posted by Terry Bouchard on Sunday, 03/3/2024 @ 19:14pm |
