It'd be nice, but I think he came along too late as far as great crooners go to even get him seriously considered as an Early Influence. Still, great music. I particularly love his vocal take on "Theme From Love Story."

Tony Bennett as an Early Influence for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Isn't that a bit of a stretch? Willing to be persuaded if anyone cares to convince me.

Frank Sinatra first.

According to Paul Grein of Chart Watch:

"Duets II enters The Billboard 200 at #1. This enables the 85-year old pop legend to supplant Bob Dylan as the oldest artist ever to land a #1 album. Dylan was nearly 68 when he topped the chart in May 2009 with Together Through Life. The fact that Bennett is more than 17 years older than the previous record holder suggests that this record is likely to be his for keeps.

Bennett also tops Frank Sinatra as the oldest artist ever to land a top 10 album. Sinatra was 79 in December 1993 when he made his final appearance in the top 10."
