This was an interesting group, along the lines of Kraftwerk, Silver Apples, Bruce Haack, etc... Members of this group went on to for Psychic TV, also a very good group along the same lines. Definitely worth a listen...

I can't imagine the current nominators or voters ever giving them the time of day, but when the next generation takes over artists like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Suicide and Einstuerzende Neubauten (who inexplicably don't even have a page here)will merit at least consideration if not nominations for their massive influence.

"Throbbing Gristle has been widely considered the sole founder of industrial music." - wikipedia

I would put Kraftwerk in first though. Once that happens I would strongly support the Gristle even though I'm not really a fan. Unfortunately, at this point it looks like Kraftwerk have been lost in the shuffle, and this will most likely be Jann Wenner's reaction on hearing the name Throbbing Gristle "Who the f*cks that? NO." It's all pretty sad what it has come to

I would also put Silver Apples in, it's amazing how one band that so few people have heard of had such important influence and innovation
