I'm not a huge Ska fan, but it would seem likely that the Hall would eventually recognize the genre somehow; and since the Specials are apparently credited often as the band that got the ball rolling (fusing punk and reggae)... they seem a likely choice for Hall membership.

As much as I like the Specials, I think Madness would get the nod out of sheer notoriety. If you do not know the Specials, get "Gangsters", it's a classic !!

I have a feeling time will catch up with these guys...they just need a new ska act to come along in the mainstream and they'll start earning credit for putting the genre together.

I'd give the nod to The English Beat aka The Beat over Madness or The Specials for first in.

Yes! Absolutely, why no comments since '08?

How come The (English) Beat don't have a page here? Madness and the Specials both do. The Beat needs one too!

Madness probably has the best shot of being inducted out of this group, however, I like the Specials better. Specials and More Specials are both fantastic albums.

The Selector, Bad Manners and the Bodysnatchers all don't have pages here either.

Wow, I'm blown away that A Message to You Rudy hasn't been inducted in the Song Project. Making a note for next round.
