Yeah, buy the Since I Don't Have You by Guns N' Roses is a little better although Guns N' Roses made it way more diffrent then all the other songs GN'R did on the the Spagetti Inciedent and Live like a Suicide.

The Skyliners, out of Pittsburgh,Pa. brought the full orchestra into the doo-wop era on their songs.
Many of their songs have gone on to be played in movies, such as Rainman, and today they still continue to tour.
Leadman,Jimmy Beaumont has an unmistakable voice, many have tried, but can't touch his awesome vocals on their songs.

Good band but not in the doo wop major league.

I can't say enough good things about Jimmy Beaumont & The Skyliners!Although they were a little ahead of my time, I knew them & always loved Doowhop. I think they should be inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. It's a shame they haven't been! This group especially touched my heart & still do when I hear them.

i just love reading. about all of these old classic rock bands on this forum!
Here is. a band that has fallen into the cracks in my view.
I know most here would agree they should be in!

Not really, Happy. I like them, but the only thing they really have in their favor was Phil Spector's high esteem of their "This I Swear", calling it his all-time favorite record. That's pretty impressive, but not really enough, m'fraid.

Gosh Phil
I would never of dream Spector had such great words for them ! would have to agree with Mr Spector,They sure put the
doo in the woop ! What wonderful voices they have!
To me many of these oldtimers really set the stage. It's hard to out do the real thing.
I feel the Skyliners sure can sing.

Happy, I'm not sure if you're familiar with my blog, but the very first entry was about the difficulties in getting doo-wop properly acknowledged in the RnRHoF.

It's if you wanna check it out. You'll have to navigate to the very first entry.
