3 comments so far (post your own)They were the Godmothers of Outsider Music. Like Nirvana, the Shaggs were one of those bands that wants you thick they sucked but were actually good and talented. Frank Zappa was a huge fan of them and once said they were “better” than the Beatles (Yep, he actually said that since he essentially hated the Fab Four until their music grew him). As much as I respect Frank Zappa, when you know the backstory of the Shaggs, it's very clear that no, they weren't good and talented. Pure parental projectionism, period.
