Maybe, but they went the wrong way. What makes 'Your Love' a great hit is the lead vocal and the backup vocals playing off of each other. It is not the rudimentary guitar riff in the song. It is not the big hair or the androgenous clothes, or the good looks. I just never heard the attention grabbing vocals in their other songs, as they went after that 80's love song ballad genre, but maybe they should have went in the direction of Sweet or Thin Lizzy and hardened their edge, while maintaining an almost rock 'barber quartet' sound throughout. They are a one-hit wonder band, in my opinion.

The key thing to remember about the Outfield is that they have stayed true to their roots all these years. They are the same guys today that they were years ago in terms of the style of music they play and write.

They took time off around 1992 till later in the decade, because they saw that the direction that music was going and their style was not going to be popular.

But it should also be noted that John got really sick and at one point was near death for about a year so that's why they also took that time off; John's health deteriorated after they decided to take some time off and was not the reason they stopped making music.

They are a great bunch of guys who are very humble and are still quite surprised by the success of Your Love and all the fans who go out and see them still after all these years.

If anyone deserves to be in the rock and roll hall of fame, it's the outfield. They have catchy music, good songs ( I listen to their music every day before school and after) , committed band members, rememberal songs (my favorite is Talk to me). I'm surprised they haven't been in the hall of fame yet.

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
