This was a great band - the first supergroup of punk. 3 excellent studio albums and 1 live album before Stiv Bators died in :90:

Wikiedia tells me they started in '82, so they came way too late to have any large influence on goth.

I cannot say as to whether they held any weight over any specific genre. I thought their music crossed over from one to the next very smoothly. I consider them the Blind Faith of Punk. I would doubt they would have any chance at induction, nor would I say that they actually deserve it. But I am here to tell you that they made some excellent music. But if they are one day, at least the Dead Boys, Sham 69 and the Damned will be represented in a round about way.
