These guys were actually an awesome punk band back in the day when punk wasn't a bunch of whiny pussies with trust fund guitars who don't have anything to be angry about but mope around anyway.

The Dictators are in the Hall of Fame as part of the punk wing apparently. It's too bad because this means they'll probably never get in as performers. Little Steven likes them though, I think he said they were the link between MC5 and the Ramones, which I think is a fairly accurate description.

Maybe there's hope, but FRL is only giving them 4% induction chances, and, as I'm writing this 61% of people voted no. Clearly these people are more interested in seeing their pet projects get in than an actual innovative and influential band like the Dictators. Of course, some may argue punk is already well enough represented in the Hall.

Unfortunately, after voting for both Lustmord & Fear Factory, as well as setting up the first in-house medical journal, I have been compelled to cease publication.

I have been sent to the Dictators. I imagine I could mention something about Den Mothers, but I'm quite sure the university students who check in here might not care for that.

Will they get in? Of course not. Should they get in? Well, if it was a real RNR Hall of Fame, yes. But not the RNR Hall of Fame that has Hall and Oates in it.

Since they're my favorite band of all time, I went ahead voted yes anyway. :)
