This poser "mrxyz" is an enigma inside of a riddle. He may have been in the sun too long? He hears a drum where there is no drum.

Very sad news, Cadillacs and doo-wop fans. I just heard the news that Earl Carroll, lead singer of the Cadillacs (and later a member of The Coasters), just passed away this past Sunday after suffering from diabetes, a stroke, and other health problems. More info available here:

On a personal note: I just watched the 1959 film Go Johnny Go, which features two performances by The Cadillacs. They sing Jaywalker and Please, Mr. Johnson in this movie and appear in costumes while performing. Along with The Coasters, these guys were the kings of comedic doo wop. Go Johnny Go also showcases performances by Chuck Berry, Ritchie Valens, Eddie Cochran, The Flamingos, Jackie Wilson, and Jo Ann Campbell. It's not a great film, but it's worth seeking out just for the musical performances and the star power (Take that, Woodstock!).

R.I.P., Mr. Carroll. I hope more members of my generation discover your great music just like I did. And on that note...

GIVE ME MORE OF THE PAST SO THAT I CAN ENJOY THE PRESENT!
