Can't believe I am 1st to post about this band.

Have seen them 4 times now, including this latest performance closing out 2015 Loufest. Think this was the best I have seen them, and they've been great in the previous 3 sets I've seen.

Set was heavy with their best songs, just great roots/Americana/Newgrass tunes. BTW, band name is pronounced like you are saying 'I think Jim just got A Vette for his birthday'. They are from NC. The 2 brothers have a crack backing band. Must see live, IMO.

If they keep going like they are now, I do see an induction sometime in the 2030s.

And I can't believe that I'm the second to write about this band on here. I saw the Avetts a year ago at Bonnaroo, but it was a bit week plus they were playing the same time as another great band so it wasn't that memorable. They were the headlining act at this year's Loufest in St. Louis. And for the right reasons: I was more than blown away by their set and how them and the audience/fans connected with them. They said in an interview how much they loved performing at festivals as well as in St. Louis, and they know where they strike a chord.

One of the best live acts of this generation, hands down. It's evident due to how many shows they have sold out in recent years. I'm actually kind of glad they aren't so mainstream; they're showing that they are doing it without the help of a major label.

Have seen them 11 times, more than any band other than the Grateful Dead. They write their own music and have an extensive catalogue of songs which is diverse, distinctive, inspiring and creative. They put on a wonderful show which includes everything from rock to bluegrass to heartfelt ballads. The band, now consisting of seven pieces, which includes cello, violin and banjo in addition to the guitar, bass, keyboards and drums, can really jam.
