They're good live, but i haven't really _listened_ to any of their songs.

Although Suicidal Tendencies are absolutely not my cup of tea, from what I read from the brilliant amateur critic "janitor-x" makes me think Suicidal Tendencies are the oddball amongst artists newly eligible in 2008/2009.

They were first hardcore band to make the Billboard charts, and their influence on the 1990s and 2000s underground is important according to "janitor-x". If this "modern underground" becomes better known they may have a chance - but it seems few now know of them at all.

They have zero chance at induction. Who are you kidding? If the freaking Stooges can't get in, you think Suicidal Tendencies has a chance?

Patrick, I understand your point. I actually assume they have very little chance under present conditions, anyway.

Though, your point "If the freaking Stooges can't get in" may not be valid by the dates I am thinking of - say around 2023/2024 when I imagine the Stooges will be inducted and Suicidal Tendencies might (and I mean might) have more of a reputation.

just being nominated is an achievment. the band were nominated for a grammy in the late 90's. i've listened to mike speak about that. with words to a similar effect. i am bias though, im sporting over a dozen sui tattoos

If NWA gets in, ST should get in. ST was basically the hardcore version of NWA. Want to know what LA hardcore sounded like circa 1985? ST.

I like Suicidal Tendencies and all but no.

By the time the heavyweights ahead of them are in, ST will be #5 on the list and (just like the Dave Clark Five) the voters will ignore them after what the Sex Pistols did. "I hate, pop songs, I hate, the Grateful Dead, but I'll be grateful when the rest of them are dead" - Mike Muir

Brilliant punk and crossover band. ST was a phenomenal marriage of punk, thrash and rap.

They absolutely should get the nomination and induction that NWA is going to get this year.

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
