The fact that it's 2009 and nobody but I have left a comment on here is the reason why Savatage will not get in. That's ok, they don't have to be in to be respected in the metal community. Funny thing is, your parents probably went to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert not knowing that they have members of Savatage and Testament.

You're right; I didn't know until I saw TSO live last December (great concert, by the way), and the lead singer said as much, and dedicated two songs to their fallen member.

These guys had huge amounts of talent, as well as a really unique style. It's a damn shame they're not better known, they had a lot to offer the rock world.

Savatage has been my favorite band since I was in middle school, more than fifteen years ago. I was blown away when they released poets and madmen, it gave me hope for the future of music. Everything that was played on the radio was so boring compared to Savatage.
If Savatage never makes it into the rock and roll hall of fame it is only because the right people have not listened to them yet!
