Will Public Image Ltd. be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
"Musical excellence is the essential qualification for induction."

It would make my day if this happened, if only for the fact that John Lydon (or perhaps his evil alter ego Johnny Rotten) would write another obscene note to the hall. PiL is a personal favorite of mine, but let's be honest with ourselves, it's not gonna happen.

I hope to every available god... They could bribe back Jah Wobble and do "Poptones"! Or "Theme"! "Albatross"! In my dreams!

But really, no PiL, no post-punk. They are inextricable. Plus, they made music that art snobs could dance to without having to commit seppuku...

If they do get in, who wagers a twenty-minute "Fodderstompf"?

The guy is clown shoes.
He doesn't deserve to be in any Hall Of Fame.
He deserves to be horsewhipped.

I really love PiL, but not asmuch as I love Gang of Four. I'd love those two to get in, but, you know - Jann Wanker...

Liam...I remember the song "Rise", didn't know John Lyndon was part of it. Good stuff!! The liner notes on Rhapsody are very informative.

That would be hilarious, if they got inducted and the original lineup was back together... and they proceed to do a 20 minute Fodderstompf.

I can't argue with most of the above. Brilliant group, and I'd love for Lydon to be in twice, but it'll never happen. Not as high a priority as others in the post-punk world (don't forget Wire were there first), but at some point they should get in.
