It is a shame that she isn't in yet in the RnRHOF. Musically she could have gone in any direction...her voice was that good.
While there is no "best way" to describe her I will try.
If you took all of the top pop, rock and progressive male groups and solo artists and rolled them all up into a female you would get Nina Hagen
