Will Nightwish be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
"Musical excellence is the essential qualification for induction."

Nightwish definitely belongs in for one simple reason: the music kicks butt! As long as Tarja Turunen and Sami (the original bassist) get to play along with the new members, things will be fine.

Cheap Evanescence rip offs. They are terrible!

Lest you think Nightwish (who had been doing their thing years before Fallen) are cheap rip offs of Evanescence, here is one of their songs:

(I'd intended to do multiple songs, but apparently it looks too much like spam. Too bad, because it takes away from experiencing the diversity of Nightwish's music)

Beyond the female vocalist and the blending of classical and rock (and the sometime gothic element that enters into Nightwish's diverse blend), Nightwish sounds nothing like Evanscence.

You can call them different, you can call them less straightforward, and you can call them more complex, but "terrible" is something Nightwish simply isn't. If you're out to nail bands following closely in the wake of Evanescence, please choose a band that might conceivably be considered a "rip-off." Not a Finnish symphonic metal band with more musical chops. You're just embarrassing Evanescence.

Their main songwriter writes some of the best lyrics. All of the members are very talented. They are clearly influential and innovative. Evanescence is a commercial mainstream rock band. And they are not as talented as Nightwish.

Security Question:

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
