Natalie Cole has definitely paid her dues many times over and deserves to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has diversity from R&B, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Disco, Country, Funk, Gospel, and now Latin. She is a very Underrated Artist who is very soulful and has been very disrespected, and needs to finally get the credit that she deserves. It is a shame that she has not been inducted, and that is one of the reasons why I am boycotting The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until she is inducted.

We just couldn't get out of 2015 without yet another voice going silent. RIP.

I was very saddened to hear about the recent passing of Natalie Cole. She was a phenomenal talent. My most sincere condolences to her family and friends. I will always remember her for her song, 'Wild Women Do,' from the "Pretty Woman" film.

Hi. Bill here.
I already started my tribute to Natalie on my blog on Charles' "Top Of The Charts" forum. Click on the above link to see it. Lots of live footage, videos of her hits, and even her 2001 bioflick, "Livin' for Love: the Natalie Cole Story" are included .

As someone had already mentioned, Her Dad, the legendary Nat "King" Cole, has already been inducted as an "Early Influence", but given the fact that the "Hallowed Hall" has been turning a deaf ear to Classic R&B artists in recent years, I'm not hopeful about Natalie's chances to join him.
After all, if heavy hitters like Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, Dionne Warwick, The Pointer Sisters, and Patti LaBelle & The BlueBelles/ LaBelle, and Whitney Houston can't get inducted...

I think that some people, but not music aficionados, have forgotten about the depth and dearth of NATALIE COLE as an artist. The 1975 debut of the Lady of Soul and her career in R&B gave us hit after hit, including TWO PLATINUM ALBUMS IN THE SAME YEAR! Her NATALIE...LIVE album is a tour de force and some of the SANGINGEST SINGING EVER DONE! Then to have birthed careers in POP AND ADULT CONTEMPORARY (Pink Cadillac, Miss You Like Crazy, Starting Over Again) and staged a solid comeback wasn't enough, she went to another level. Natalie Cole didn't just "sing her father's songs." She was singlehandedly responsible for the RESTORATION OF THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK! SO many artists turned to the format and saw success because of what she did with UNFORGETTABLE...WITH LOVE! She has won Grammys in R&B, pop, jazz, traditional pop and has had dance #1 hits. She was the FIRST BLACK ARTIST to win Best New Artist and she worked with artists across every genre. SHE DESERVED TO BE THERE because SHE made a name FOR HERSELF AND DID THE WORK TO INSURE HER FATHER'S LEGACY! She returned Nat King Cole to the CHARTS and even helped one of his albums go platinum 40 years after his death!

All the great singers considered Natalie as one of the greatest of all time so that should say it all. There is a video on YouTube her singing with all these since inducted great musicians, she actually makes them all seem smaller than her own talent no cap. She was an absolute rnb singer second to no one including Aretha. And that's why she sang the blue's! Untill she is in it who ever else is there really doesn't matter if the scale is musical talent.

Natalie won best female R&B Grammy after Aretha had won it 8 times in a row. Listen to her first 4 albums - and her Live one. A tremendous R&B talent, who followed in the tradition of Patti and Aretha. The fact that she became a Jazz, American Songbook, and Quiet Storm star later doesn't diminish her early work worthy of the Hall of Fame.

How can we vote Natalie Cole in the hall of fame???? I just found out today that she's not. One of the most legendary vocalist in the world. Her voice was golden! Please tell me what we can do? She has been an injustice. Thank you.
