If Morrissey has a chance at all, it's with the Smiths. Highly unlikely they would honor his solo work before honoring the Smiths. And if they let in the Smiths, no way he gets in solo.

I thought of something a week ago, and then I forgot, and then I just remembered again right now. But since it's pretty clear Moz would have nothing to do with a Smiths induction, and the Hall Ceremony tends to put a premium on bands able to perform, is it possible they'll skip The Smiths and wait for Morissey to become eligible?

My goodness I'm stupid: I failed to realise that Anthony Long was infact talking about solo artists being inducted after their groups are inducted.

Nah. Just nah. I like most of it, but nah. It'll never happen though. I don't think he'll ever live back up to The Smiths, even if they get back together.

Yes, Stephen, we humans are despicable, meat-gulping bastards. Thank god you're not one of them.

He won't get in until the Smiths go in. His solo career hasn't really influenced anybody I can think of. The Smiths influenced all the Britpop, Post Punk Revival, and Alternative Rock bands out there. He makes accesible pop-rock songs, and alot of it's good, but not enough. He's more of a household name (or in the US) than the smiths, which sort of helps him. But I say no, just being realistic.

MHO is that The Smiths should be inducted first. They are more influential and relevant than Morrissey by himself (and I'm a great Moz admirer).
