Long story short, no chance. I like him well enough, but he's never getting in.

Yeah, I like him too, but I wouldn't say he stands much of a chance in getting in the Hall either. I would consider putting "Lightning Strikes" on a 500 Greatest Songs list though. Like if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame made a new "500 Songs That Shaped Rock N' Roll" list (which they seriously should do), I'd consider putting it on there.

But I probably wouldn't vote for him to be inducted into the HOF. Not unless that ballot was terrible that year.

Lou Christie was more than just "Lightning Strikes." If you want to familiarize yourself with more of his catalogue, take a listen to the following songs:

"I'm Gonna Make You Mine" (Just a fun, great track)
"Two Faces Have I" (Lou does falsetto)
"The Gypsy Cried" (more of the above)
"Rhapsody in the Rain" (Just a cheerful, feel-good song)
"Beyond the Blue Horizon" (Underrated)

I'd consider all of the above including the mandatory "Lightning Strikes" as essential songs.

I think he should be in, as should other artists of the sixties like Tommy James, Gary Puckett, and the Buckinghams. Just look at the numbers of records that were sold by these guys and their popularity at the time.
