Don't know if I'd call him a soul pioneer... he's always seemed more like a pop music kind of guy... though "Holy Cow" (I think that's the name of it) really is a great song, and if he does make it in, I'd call that his Song Of Proof.

Lee Dorsey was considered many years ago, he should be given another shot. He was one of the great icons of the New Orleans soul/funk/blues r&b scene. He teamed often with The Meters and songs of Allen Touissant.
