A overlooked vocalist with quite a bit of above average work starting in the early 60s, through Motown and Elton John's Rocket Records and well into the 90s. It's sad that most people don't know anything about her other than the #1 duet with Elton, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." Maybe the stage name Kiki Dee given to her by Mitch Murray leads her to not be taken seriously. It's a shame because she is a serious talent.

And, yes, she wrote quite a bit of her own material.

Well she's on the "Highest Fan Approval" list so evidently 89% of people who voted here take her seriously. You're right about her being overlooked, I'm not as familiar with her myself but from what I have heard I'm surprised she isn't better known.

By the way classicrocker, you gonna be participating in the Song and Album Projects?

Tahvo, the answer is yes and I've Got The Music In Me will be a possibility. It's one of my favorites by Kiki Dee. Too bad the Kiki Dee Band didn't stay together that long. They electrified.
