I actually think she is a pretty stellar artist and is very underrated.
She is one of the rare truly unique artists and has shown that in her career. She hasn't been afraid to be weird or experimental.
Caught Out There- one of the most innovative songs and videos ever
Milkshake is a pretty iconic and awesome song. Sorry but it more enjoyable than anything the Red Hot Chilli Peppers recorded and they are in the hall. I hope she gets in

To all of you PATHETIC HATERS! Kelis has done a hell of a lot more than you people would ever know. She is very underrated and it's a shame that you people don't even know that the female artists you all praise so much copies off of her! Not to mention I bet none of you bastards even heard the entire album "Tasty", "Wanderland" and "Kaleidoscope". But your so quick to judge.

My fav female artists are Bjork and Joanna Newsom, I don't think they're copying off of Kelis.

Yea - my favorite female artists are Janet Jackson, PJ Harvey, Aimee Mann, Bjork, Robyn and Alanis Morissette. I'm fairly confident that none of them have copied Kelis.

For me, Siouxsie Sioux, PJ Harvey, Sinead O'Connor, Fiona Apple, Bjork, Anita Lane, the Slits, St. Vincent, Lykke Li, Tegan & Sara, Poly Styrene, Dusty Springfield, Francoise Hardy, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, Edith Piaf, Big Mama Thornton, Etta James, the Ronettes, Martha and the Vandellas, Patti Smith, Zola Jesus. I'm not really hearing that Kelis influence.

Now, I do see that Kelis apparently has an album named "Kaleidoscope", which is the name of Siouxsie & the Banshees' much beloved 1980 album. So, there does seem to be some thieving going on around here.
