Once again, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has skipped over my father, the late R&B singer Johnnie Taylor who has been eligible since 1996. As each year passes, I get madder and madder at the artist who are put in over him.
I mean not only was my father a great singer but he had to deal with a very racist society in fine tuning his craft.
I talked to former president of the hall of fame, Terry Stewart about two years ago. He told me about the process and I think it stinks. I think there should be a poll that the public can vote on. No one really knows who picks these artist at all and no one can challenge it
I am going to keep challenge them, until my father is placed where he deserves to be. With Disco Lady, my father had the FIRST PLATINUM single.
Will I have passed away by the time you guys put my father in the hall of fame? I will be 53 on November 23 of this year. It's looking more and more that way. It's a shame he's been passed over so many times.

Okay. How many more years is my father, Johnnie Taylor going to be skipped over? we are at year 24 and counting????? After doing my homework on this site, he can't even be found with other artist that are eligible. How can the man that had the FIRST EVER, EVER, EVER PLATINUM record, Disco Lady, certified by the RIAA not be inducted? I won't rest until he is in his place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You can count on that.

Are you really his daughter? If so, awesome!

The man had many great achievements and quite a career. Unfortunately though, he's got so much competition and on top of that there hasn't been much people in his genre inducted in the last decade. Don't worry, less and less people are taking the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame seriously.

Just because the "Hallowed Hall" wants to EXCLUDE R&B artists going forward in favor of RAP/HIP-HOP ?

The HUGE backlog of deserving R&B artists that are NOT getting inducted...or even NOMINATED is getting simply RIDICULOUS !!
