Joe Walsh is a god of guitar! I can't believe he's not in there. This is shameful.

Joe Walsh from his time in The James Gand -Solo-The Eagles has led some career and I like him.
But isn't he already in with The Eagles?

Ooops The Jame Gang wouldn't wanna get critiqued for making a basic typo like the guy on the Stevie Ray Vaughan thread did.

James Gang Yer Album
Rides Again (James Gang)
Barnstorm (Joe Walsh)

Fabulous and innovative guitar playing on all above. In the early 70's I attended a Who concert in which the James Gang opened up the bill. Wasn't at all familiar with them at that time and I didn't know any of their songs but when they played "The Bomber/Closet Queen/Bolero/Cast Your Fate To The Wind" mini-collage I heard a guitar that in parts was gorgeously harmonic and in other parts was straight ahead garage rock. I could tell he was going to be a star and this was years before he hit the big time. He really got the crowd warmed up for The Who and left the stage to a standing ovation.

I think the competition of having to tour with a monster act like The Who really brought out the best in him. I think he and Pete Townsend became friends at that time.

When "Rocky Mountain Way" came out he had achieved his commercial success. But go back to Barnstorm and you'll hear a much less commercial Joe Walsh playing music that brings you closer to the clouds. Some of the music on Barnstorm was New Age 25 years before there was a genre called New Age.

Its kind of a shame that he never got to be in a band like a Pink Floyd where he had other musicians of equal skills to his and he could have stretched out and jammed more. He could do some very trippy sounding electronic guitar work but he never committed an entire album or group period doing that stuff.

I suppose he was just too versatile to settle in to one style of music.

Joe had a lot of great songs as a solo artist. There is definately some influence from his solo work. Ozzy Osbourne, Triumph, and Foo Fighters have all covered some of his solo songs.

It's a maybe for his solo work, but I think the James Gang should have been inducted by now.

Do you know that Joe Walsh shares his birthday with our current Vice-President, JOE Biden? On the Eagles 1980 tour which is documented on "Eagles Live" Joe Walsh announced he was running for President. A decade later Walsh said he was running for VP. Biden has run for President a couple of times (The birthday the two Joes have in common is November 20, with Biden being born in 1942 and Walsh being born in 1947)

Joes solo work should get him in on its own merits.Add that to how the Eagles stepped it up big with his addition after they courted him - the eagles backed Joe up in concert before he was a member , work with the James Gang , aand he was a huge influence on many sounds of the 70's : gave Peter Frampton his talk box setup and taught him how to use it - ever hear of Frampton comes alive ? what would it have been without talk box ?how about giving Pete Townshend his Gretsch guitar that gave him that incredible feedback sound? or convincing Jimmy Page to buy one of his other guitars d up being a huge peice of Zep's sound

Dude had his hands all over the sound of the 70's

Care PackagesThere is totally nothing much better than coming back originating from a long evening in class/at perform and witnessing a package which has a return deal with from Mama (or maybe better... Grandma:)). You consistently run in the steps, open the entranceway and find the first sharpened thing you'll find to golf slice open of which finicky appearance tape. Now comes the perfect part... what's inside. If you have got one particular academic mums, it'll usually often be a book, some pens and perhaps a brand-new note sleep pad moms who seem to worry you never do your current laundry enough you may find covers, dishwasher cleaning agent and clothing dryer sheets; and in case you have a tasteful mom transmits that pair of shoes you've seriously been seeking, accompanied using a new headband. The finest though is the mystery common box. Inside is definitely everything including Scooby Doo BandAids and that classic video you've often wanted, but never had to a crazy set of socks including a singing toothbrush along with assorted other household goods you'll most likely never work with. And certainly, the best part is tucked away under sheets of flesh paper towards the bottom of this box. The snacks, to "share with your roommates, " otherwise known as eat yourself and emphasize you why you love Mom (as well as Grandma) so much. AWESOME Hi Pawel, the square needs to be selected the second you touch Ctrl+left click the path. I have no idea of if a person covered the following already, but thinking you may possibly be sick and tired with a little something pretty significant, or out of cash a bone and finding out it is not all that bad all things considered. Or having a family member go by that, feeling the actual apprehension of looking forward to test results, x-rays, etc and how to find the lump isn't really cancerous, that bone is not actually broken, it's exclusively sprained, etc. I find feeling pretty Awesome!

I'm surprised there's not a lot of comments on Joe Walsh's page, as well as any debate of him deserving to get in. As a solo artist, that is. I know he is already inducted as a member of the Eagles.

Kind of a borderline pick for me, as he has stood out as one of the greatest guitarists of the classic rock era. He's rubbed shoulders with several RRHOFers, especially at the most recent induction ceremony. Joe did put out some great solo hits as well as with the James Gang. In addition, he is probably the first to record a song that tells the highs and lows of being a rock star. I say maybe give this guy a shot at a solo induction, but give some well-deserving individuals a chance as well.

Saw him perform the other night in concert! It was an awesome show and as expected, he rocked the house while everyone chilled. Played all of his signature songs, including those with James Gang. Also as expected, he performed 'Take It To The Limit' in memory of his brother/bandmate Glenn Frey. It was probably the closest to the Eagles I'll ever get to see, unless Don Henley comes around my city.

I'm still borderline on whether he should get in as a solo act. I wouldn't be disappointed if he got a special side award like Ringo Starr did. Joe Walsh is a true rock icon, and is widely respected by several.

Here are some songs besides "Life's Been Good" that talk about the ups and mostly downs about being famous:
"Rock/Rap Superstar"-Cypress Hill
"Teenage Idol"-Rick Nelson
"Celebrity"-Brad Paisley

I'm sure there's more, just can't think of any at the top of my head for now
