I don't know why "Aftertaste" is listed as their top album. "Meantime" is generally regarded as their best.

Helmet may have a real chance of getting in - I have heard they are seen by some, like All Music, as "influential" in the direction of hard rock - but only time will tell.

I voted yes. They definitely deserve to be part of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, because they're one of the first bands that made alternative metal popular.

Oh, and for this site's information, their first album Strap It On actually came out in 1990, not 1991.

They influnced big on alternative metal, but hey, what do I know. They do deserve some credit.

It maybe a pipe dream, but it's a yes for me. Helmet made an enormous impact on many rock and metal acts back in the 90's and even the early 2000's, with bands like Tool, Pantera, Slipknot, Korn, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Nine Inch Nails, Three Days Grace, Queens of the Stone Age, Staind, Killswitch Engage, Chevelle, and more having or had been inspired by their musical styles.

I've seen those guys live and met Page Hamilton once at one of my local clubs - he's really a nice dude.
