She should be inducted solely for writing one of the most iconic songs of the 1970's, I Am Woman, hosting the Midnight Special and opening the doors for female vocalists in the 1970's.

Helen Reddy was inducted in Austrailia's Hall of Fame in 2006. She has had a global impact on the 70s generation and beyond with 4 number one hits, including her most influential and impacting I Am Woman, as well as many other top 40 hits. She has also released well over 20 commercially and artistically successful albums. She was the permanent hostess of one of Rock's pioneering television shows, the Midnight Special bringing visual performances of rock acts into the homes and hearts of America. If Australia's ARIA inducted her inter thier hall of fame, she needs to be given the nod to ne enshrined in Cleveland!

Helen Reddy made and altered history. That alone more than qualifies her for this award. Sadly the US is still afraid of strong, independent women. Prove me wrong.

I Am Woman alone should be enough to have her inducted. For a while, she had hit after hit after hit in the 1970's, not to mention the Midnight Special hostess gig.

She was huge in the 1970's and yes, I Am Woman was an important song, especially for the women's movement. Hostess of the Midnight Special, the most important show for music back then. She also worked with Kim Fowley, sang on Gene Simmons solo album and Jeff Lynne wrote a song for her. For about 7 years, she was constantly on the radio - yes!
