Child in Time 27...you come on here, spouting about all these obscure bands, saying they should be in the HOF (along with a bunch of other unintelligent statements), but you don't give even a hint of influence, innovation, or how they've perpetuated anything as far as taking their artform to another level.

I took the time (very little, I might add) to sample some of these "bands" you speak of, and it just proves my point that they'll give a recording contract to anyone these days. All they're really good for is a sonic assault on your ears...which I don't find to be a plus at all!!!

If you want to come on here and have some inkling of an intelligent conversation, fine. If you want to spout a bunch of idiotic and boorish drivel, I'm sure there are sites that others like you frequent, and you can spout off at each other and be juvenile all you want...which in your case I'd highly suggest.

Listen, Gitarzan, I actually discuss bands with intelligent people like Dameon, Keebord who like to have normal dicussions.

And as I said before I WILL DEFEND, AND VOTE YES FOR ANY METAL BAND THAT I LIKE, because 'stuff' like Madonna Grandmaster are inducted, ok?

ps If you think that I am close minded, boring, or have no taste....well that's not my problem! I listen to diverse music....just a few bands so you will see something: Deep Purple, The Smiths, Dio, Journey, Gentle Giant, Tortoise, King Crimson, Loudness, Death, Necrophagist, Helloween, The Bearles, The Kinks, Manowar, Omette Coleman, Armstrong, Vivaldi, Bach, Kiss, Marillion, Van der Graaf Generator, Europe, Tina Turner, Gillespie, White Lion, Al Di Meola, Mogwai, Malmsteen, Steppenwolf, Steve Vai, Blackmore's Night, Nick Cave, Judas Priest, Brian Eno, Mozart, Elvis, Nick Drake, Rage Against the Machine, Poison, The Pogues, Overkil, System of a Down, Ramones, Testament, King Diamond, Grateful Dead, Possessed, Moody Blues, Sinatra.......enough???? And if I DON'T SEE AN INTERESTING CONVERSTAION, OR INTERESTING ENOUGH JUST TO READ, I'M NOT GOING TO POST A LONG MESSAGE! I have my own opinion, 'If you don't like it, I don't care' - Manowar

I don't care' - Manowar

Some metal bands do deserve being in...But caring or not won't change a thing.. I agree since folks like Madonna and U2 R IN ..almost anybody fits the bill of RHOF.. I guess if you sell lots of music you can be in....There is logic to that philosophy...!
Like so much in the music biz.. weather it be Rock or Broadway it is POLITICS ...

Hmmm...musta struck a nerve, eh?? At what point in time have you explained your reasoning for any of these bands, except to say things like "so & so rocks"...that's a good reason for induction!!!!

Furthermore, you must care or you wouldn't say anything. You mentioned a lot of artists...so what?? What prevents you from having an intelligent conversation about them. I see no effort on your part. Why don't you share your "vast musical knowledge" with us without using the words "rules" or "rocks" or my favorite..."see you in hell, my friend".

One more thing...the fact that you're closed-minded, boorish, and have no taste IS your problem. I certainly don't care outside of the fact it clogs up this site with a bunch of crap!!!

Take a chill pill, man. I have converstaions, you gotta search better, if you'd like. And not all of my comments are like 'they rock'. I don't need to make a page long comments about all the bands I like, for example Deep Purple, should I really explain why they should be in?
And again it's nothing wrong with supporting artists that you like. And as I said, I'd probably never back up Grim Reaper or Warrant(even though I love their music) if really crappy artists would not be inducted.

Child in Time 27...your last couple of comments have been more like it, but then along comes "king floyd"...that's the kind of stuff that bugs me!! Saying "AC/DC sucks" is just plain stupid, especially when you don't explain yourself.

Don't you agree...???

Posted by Gitarzan on Sunday, 12.28.08 @ 21:28pm

haha...I agree 100%! See, I myself, is not a big Led Zeppelin fan, and sometimes I'm annoyed by teenagers who picked up one of their dads' cds and start wearing LZ t-shirts, and think that they NOW know everything about music, but you will never see me making comments like that or I will never ever argue about the fact that they are inducted. I might ask questions about why did they get in on the first ballot and Sabbath waited for so long, and Purple are still not in? But still I don't need a reality check, and I realize they are one of the most important bands in the history of rock'n'roll.
The same can be said about Ac/Dc(the only difference is they are in my top 20 for sure:)). BUT, saying, that they suck, without explanation....well.....why even bother to have a conversation with someone who said that?

In all honestly your comment here.. "I'm annoyed by teenagers who picked up one of their dads' cds and start wearing LZ t-shirts." Is a perfect example of Musical influence. Its like never hearing a band before in your life, but going to a show with a friend, and buying a Tee shirt.. but its ok for Avril to wear her 500.00 dollar Iron Maiden tee's and call herself Punk?

Grim Reaper were a band of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal... NWOBHM as it is called, Many bands were before them, Witchfinder General, to be one. Which is of my Generation. There was never any influence of this band at all, when I say that, bands of that genre never named them, Witchfinder General yes, are named through many bands of that genre..
