An absolutely awesome act. Grant Lee Philips has one of the most versatile voices in rock - ever. Paul Kimble and Joey Peters helped create a sound w/ Philips that was arguably the best American-Gothic rock sound of the past 25 years. I was shocked when I couldn't find them on this site initially, especially w/ 4 albums in the 90's and Philips own 80's pre-history in Shiva Burlesque. They'll probably never make the Hall, & it's an honest shame, given their superiority to practically every other artist listed in this year.

New Kids have nearly 75 posts as I write this.

This is the third post for Grant Lee Buffalo.

I could imply as to how ridiculous this is, but I needn't do so.

But I should.

I guess it's because the true music aficionados on this site don't feel a need to defend Grant Lee Buffalo because they are a great group.

But, just let someone say "Grant Lee Buffalo sucks!!!"...

I love this band! Bryan G. Philips (aka Grant-Lee Philips) is a talented musician and you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least check out 1 of their four albums (Fuzzy, Mighty Joe Moon, Copperopolis and Jubilee).

Remembering hearing Grant Lee Buffalo when I was in the military mid 90's. They had this alternative station out of Charleston, South Carolina I believe. It was very impressive music that captures the listener. From the great high falsetto in Mockingbirds to the awesomeness that is Lone Star Song, Grant Lee Buffalo was a terrific band. A few years later, Jubilee album was put out including the song Testimony. It always shakes your head that Grant Lee Buffalo didn't become a bigger band. 10 years from now, I think Grant Lee Phillips and Grant Lee Buffalo will get more recognition. Michael Stipe REM was very impressed with their work to name a few. They ate definitely worth a listen 2 thumbs up from King. Would put Big Head Todd and The Monsters as another underrated group from the genre. KING
