The list of early singers left out of the Hall of Fame is enormous.
Some over-sites are bigger than others, Freddy Cannon falls into the bigger category.
Palisades Park
Way Down Yonder In New Orleans
Tallahassee Lassie
Abigail Beecher
Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy
Buzz Buzz A Diddle It
Some major hits for an unrecognized singer, let's get going and get these people in the Hall of fame
In my opinion The Hall of Fame should paint a picture of the real development and shape that rock and roll took as it grew through the years. Freddy Cannon, like Jack Scott and Conway Twitty were important to the time they were active in Rock and Roll.
Cannon had huge chart success and helped shape that era.
How can you ignore these people?
They were Rock and Roll during their time.
Is each generation that sits on the board only going to recognize the singers from their era?
We have to provide a vehicle for getting these over-sites into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Now.

Probably limited in influence, but I liken him to Del Shannon. During the time of teen idols that were softening down rock'n'roll music, Cannon was one of those hard-hitting beacons that would not let rock'n'roll go down without a fight. And his last hit really sums up my feeling about rock music today: Let's Put The Fun Back In Rock'N'Roll!!

Philip actually makes a good point. If Del Shannon can make the Hall, Freddy Cannon may also have a shot. Then again, he's never even been considered, so don't hold your breathe.

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
