A tough call... I think you have to take the Smiths, Depeche Mode, and the Cure before you even can consider bringing in Erasure. However, I think the other three bands are shoo-ins, and Erasure definitely was a pre-eminent New Romantics band. Maybe a later addition to the hall.

I think it would be more likely for Vince Clarke to be inducted instead.

Indeed Vince Clark must be admitted and the bands he formed: Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, and others all would naturally go with him!

Nah, Erasure may have been huge in some parts of the world during the late 80s but they're not viewed as relevant anymore. Same thing with Yazoo. Depeche Mode deserves induction...but it's because of what they did AFTER Vince Clark left. They were better off without him.

New Order, Smiths, Cure and Depeche Mode are/were all fantastic bands indeed, but I tend to think Erasure's music is more RELEVANT. Vince Clarke & Andy Bell probably form the most underrated duo on Pop Music history.

Greatest synthpop band ever, will be the first to get in for synthpop.

Erasure more relevant than The Smiths, New Order, The Cure and Depeche Mode?
