More than just a MOR lackey with a single hit. Some mesmerizing, melancholy acoustic rock tunes with some fine arrangements; kinda Nick Drake-ish.
I really enjoy some of Sheik's lyrics "..her apathy fills the room..".
"Home" off of his debut album is particularly beautiful.

Sheik is what he is: interesting, delicate melodies, poignant lyrics, ... but not close to being a HOFer; s'ok.

I liked his first single, "Barely Breathing", but I find the rest of his stuff kinda dull. I see the Drake comparison, but Drake is MUCH more interesting.

Yea, his stuff isn't going to engage a lot of people - if something about his lush arrangements of strings and guitars and his sadness tinged songwriting doesn't hook you - like it did me - then I can see him being kinda placid.
Like Nick Drake and even Jeff Buckley, he doesn't write catchy pop melodies, so I'm not surprised he never got much radio play, other than "Barely Breathing". Melancholy doesn't sell so well most of the time.

It's my understanding that Drake was quite disappointed and unhappy with his own lack of commercial success.

Which letter is Springsteen's band named after?
