Only Satan says yes to death

They practically invented the death metal genre. This in turn opened the floodgates for many other death metal bands,a large number of whom cited this band,as an influence.

I'm not the most knowledgeable fan when it comes to death metal, but if they were early innovators they should be considered.

They won't be, since the Hall probably looks at death metal, along w/hardcore, speed, thrash, grind, etc. as subsets of the whole rock picture. A more total picture of rock would be nice, but were not gonna' get it w/the current set-up.

More's the pity.

this band deserves to be recognized, and Chuck needs to be recognized for making heavy, brutal, yet emotional and technical music. RIP Chuck Schuldiner

the best Death Metal band ever. too bad death metal hasn't really caught on. probably the reason Blood, Sweat, and Tears aren't in the hall of fame.

for those of you who are confused, i did not mean to say Blood, Sweat, and Tears are death metal. what i meant was Death probably won't be inducted since Death Metal isn't that big. The same with Blood, Sweat, and Tears. Jazz rock isn't that big either.

Amazing band, Death metal pioneers, but they're not going to get it. No one cares about Death metal. :/

Everyone thinks bands like Green Day and all those generic rock bands deserve it. But those guys are nothing compared to Death. Chuck Schuldiner wrote some of the best song lyrics ever. Their music is full of raw power and emotion. Death metal is such an underrated music genre and these guys deserve it more than any other so called generic "rock" band.

From what I've heard of them, they are the Black Sabbath of death metal. But many metal artists are snubbed, as this band most likely will be.

no 1 death metal band ever

Death was monumental, ground breaking and supremely talented in every aspect vocally, lyrically, compositionally, playing, etc. Sadly, I have ZERO hope or expectation that they make it.

These lamers are dismissive and hostile towards heavy metal. Death this year is a no brainer first ballot material caliber band but somebody truly terrible and irrelevant to Rock is going to get in before them.
