They got suburbian white kids listening to that hip-hop style, innovation, technique, style and sound...I think they make it within 5 years of eligibility.

Took a truly daring genre and watered it down till its family friendyl. Nothing to be proud of.

I have to humbly disagree here.

One of the things that was so wonderful about hip-hop through the 80's, up till about 92/93, was that it could be anything it wanted to be. You could be Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince... or you could be Run D.M.C., KRS-ONE, Beastie Boys, MC Hammer, Eric B & Rakim, Tone Loc... heck, you could be Vanilla Ice & still have hits.

If anything, hip-hop lost it's way when the hard core rappers came in & gave the boot to anyone who didn't see things the way they did. You had a different perspective, but a certain level of artistic freedom was lost in the trade.

If they are even nominated, let alone win, I will personally take a crap on Dave Marsh's car!
