I am so sorry this bunch ever found the hairspray aisle at Duane Reade. Their music was bluesy and kick ass. It is too bad this band along with Tesla took that ride because they both could flat out rock. They will never make it, but I have no problem defending their music and abilities.

It is Oscar Night; who cares!

if tom's voice gets better, they should do a new album. that might spark a revival for them. i saw them in concert back in 2001, & it was fantastic. tom was top notch with his vocals, & all were playing multiple instruments. i'd love to see them get a newfound respect from the rock community.

This was an excellent band and should have had a great career. Too bad they found the Aquanet Pink in Walmarts. They got lumped into the same category as Poison, Winger, Warrant and the rest of the crew.

Cindy get's slammed a lot, but they do veer a little too close to the glam element visually to be comfortable removing them from that category. Keifer was fine on vocals and the band did have a rougher sound compared to the Warrant's & Winger's, but I personally think it's a case of wrong place, wrong time.

I don't have any group in mind that stands out in that era, but a song from then that really struck a nerve with me was "Rock Me" by Great White. Good vocals, nice guitar work (which in my book of Rock is a MUST), a long song that didn't get boring, which is tough to do. "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" sounded like a lot of other stuff from that period and outside of that, I'm not too familiar with Great White.

The one band that managed to keep themselves was Tesla.

There isn't one doubt in my mind that Cinderella's Tom Keifer is among the finest songwriters of that last 30 years. It's just too bad that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has a history of not inducting worthy musical artists, such as Badfinger and, when Cinderella becomes eligible for induction in 2011, they'll follow the same path as Badfinger by not being inducted...all courtesy of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Tim - I have to agree with you as far as the ability and talent of Keifer. But he allowed his band to get stuck in the hairspray aisle and that will forever diminish how people view them. And it is too bad, musically, they were an excellent Rock and Roll Band.

I'm with you lot. I listened to Long Cold Winter yesterday; excellent album. Clearly they listened to some old bluesmen in the studio, and Kiefer and La Bar could definitely play. It would be cool if they did get in, but they won't, and they're not really Hall worthy anyhow.

I think they do deserve to be in. Doesn't matter if they were Glam to begin with. They were instrumental in bringing out the rock scene in Philly to the attention of the rest of the US. Their music was original, bluesy, gritty and sung with that one of a kind voice we hadn't really heard since Led Zepplin..

I was a huge 80s fan, Motley, Ratt, Great White among others. What kills the 80s is the excess, big hair and spandex. Cinderella was a solid band. Somebody Save Me is a great rocker. Other than Motley and Bon Jovi, I dont see any of these bands getting in. Certainly a decade loaded with talent.

BTW - I just heard a single from Tom Keifer's new solo album. It is very, Very good. It sounds a little like Cindy's old style, but w/a heavy dose of the Black Crowes (can't go wrong there).

NO to Cinderella's induction. Similar to many bands. Had a great opening CD with Night Songs. Somebody Save Me & Nobody's Fool. They were great hits. With the success, they went back to their bluesy roots with Long Cold Winter.Got pushed back to summer.Like the song Coming Home & Don't Know What You Got.

Cinderella should definitely be in the hall of fame. Their bluesy rock sound and Tom Keifer's vocals made them one of the greatest 80's rock bands. Tom Keifer is such a talented musician and songwriter - his solo album is brilliant and you can hear strains of Cinderella in his songs. Songs like Nobody's Fool, Gypsy Road, Shelter Me, Don't Know What You've Got and Heartbreak Station amongst others all deserve to recognised. This multi talented band deserve their slot!

Just another hair metal band. I enjoy their music, but I can't see them getting into the Hall any time soon.

By far, the most bluesey rock band of that era and only went glam because that was the thing to do back then. Tom Keifer has one of the greatest voices in Rock n Roll next to Mick Jagger. Parylized vocal chord shut them/him down for over 20 years. Now he's back with a kick ass solo album. 7 top 30's and millions of records sold. HALL OF FAMERS!

Should have at least one essential song.
