Daryl Dragon (The Captain) could possibly get inducted someday as a sideman, but Captain & Tennille? Highly unlikely!!

I"m praying that the Captain & Tennille get inducted the same year as Judas Priest. The thought of that "end of the show jam" already has me salivting !

Actually, "Muskrat Love" was written by Willis Alan Ramsey and appeared on his album in 1972. After that, it was covered by the group America in 1973 and then Captain & Tenille in 1976.

Well if you cover that song then that should be reason enough to not let them in

Toni Tennille was the voice of the phone operator at the end of "Young Lust" from Pink Floyd's "The Wall" Her voice is also heard in between "Bring The Boys Back Home" and "Comfortably Numb" on the same album.

Absolutely they should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! If objection is due to the fact that their "sound" was pop and not rock...then look and listen around people. The landscape of contemporary artists will be considerable nominees in due time, and too few of them can be considered mere "rock" artists. Why? There's truly no specificity to genre anymore. Rock and Roll is about creative musicality defying expectation using whatever "axe" you choose. The C&T qualifying fact, to me, was their musicianship (both classically trained pianists) and distinctive vocals and vocal arrangements. Add to that, they produced all of their own material. They created their sound. They created their identity. Plus, contrary to popular "memory" they could wholly get down and get funky...and could thrive in any musical genre. Which they did proficeintly. Who does that anymore? Muskrats be damned, the Captain and Tennille have earned the honor.
