It pisses me off to know that a bunch of hip-hop and rap "artists" are going to get into the ROCK HoF, and Built to Spill most likely will not. Great band.

Hi,

I certainly consider these guys worthy (tho obviously my criteria is not the same as the RRHoF). Their first 2 albums are pinnacles of indie rock, in my opinion. Their later releases aren't too shabby either. Doug Marstch is certainly some sort of guitar genius.

totally deserve it.

it is however unlikely, unless they achieve mainstream success like Modest Mouse was able to do.

It is truly a sin that Doug Marstch is not recognized as one of the best guitarists of ALL TIME. Almost as much of a sin as Built to Spill not being recognized as one of the completely essential bands to come out of the 90's.

If you do not believe that "exaggeration" listen to Keep It Like a Secret or Perfect From Now On. Those are Built to Spill's true masterpieces, and their other material is still simply remarkable.

As for the RRHoF, its inevitable that this band will be massively overlooked as they always have been overlooked for their entire careers.
