Will Boyz II Men be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
"Musical excellence is the essential qualification for induction."

Def. should even be considered for ROCK hall of fame - had absolutely zero influence on rock - had nothing to do with rock. No way should boyz II men get inducted. no way.

They broke elvis record why not?You cry babies whining about rock and roll influence face it R&B and Hip-Hop will be inducted.I think that if there were more white R&B and Hip-Hop artist you would cry about it!

Leon,im all for hip-hop and R&B in the hall. But not Boyz II Men.I mean they were practically a boy band.
hip-hop I want inducted
Eric.B and Rakim
Kool G Rap
Boogie Down Productions
Big Daddy Kane
Public Enemy
Ice Cube-Twice
2pac-Even if he's way overrated.
Biggy-Even if he's way overrated.
Slick Rick
LL Cool J
and a few others.I also think white people overrate eminem a little bit and they definitly overrated the beastie boys.Im white but I can agree with your theory.I find it strange that they consider the beastie boys to be legendary rappers yet I never hear a word about Kool G Rap or Slick Rick?

Ohh and I forgot to add nas who I want inducted.Illmatic-nuff said.
Back to some of the race theory.I notice the beastie boys getting tons of talk around here as one of the greatest hip-hop groups but really? There is no great lyricist in the group like Rakim? What about Boogie Down Productions/KRS-1?
I dont know I just find it strange cause I can't even stand the beastie boys.

They were one of the first groups to do R&B at a hip-hop tone. A lot of people do that today. I might put my vote in for Boyz II Men.

Percentage is a little lower than I would think. I don't think Boyz have much of a shot at consideration- not that it was bad, but there was nothing there that forever shook the world of music or left an incomparable impact.

Another example of huge commercial success (the only act to have 3 songs top the Billboard Hot 10 for 10+ weeks) not being a facor for HOF consideration.

How can Mariah Carey have a 38% chance of induction and Boyz II Men only have a 5% chance of induction? Mariah Carey was the number 1 charting female artist of the 90s and Boyz II Men were the number 1 charting R&B group of the 90's.

Good group. A few good hits("End of the Road", in particular, deserves an induction in the song project), and very successful. They are notable for being the last male vocal group to make any sort of impact. I personally don't consider them to be a boy band, they weren't marketed as such and their catalog doesn't really jive with the "boy band" thing (End of the Road, Water Runs Dry, I'll Make Love To You and One Sweet Day are not boy band songs). Unfortunately they might've gotten a bit too huge too quickly, as they weren't able to move with the times like R. Kelly, TLC, and Mariah Carey (to name a few) were able to do. As it stands, they haven't done enough to deserve induction, and there's far more notable names from 90s R&B that deserve it.

Boyz II Men's 1991 It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday was originally recorded by G.C. Cameron of the Spinners in 1975 for the Cooley High movie soundtrack.

Boyz II Men should be inducted. They broke Elvis record and went on to sell millions. Someone called them a boy band, what's ur point? Isn't Chicago an all male band? If I hear one more person cry and say this is the rock and roll hall of fame and certain music shouldn't be included I am going to scream. It's obvious they support all types of music so shut up already about it. I wouldn't really consider Chicago or the cars rock and roll, but they deserve to be inducted. It seems like anyone African American people have an issue with. Stop ur racial views it's sickening.

Way more influential, better quality music, and way more qualified than New Edition, New Kids On The Block, 98 Degrees, The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. They should be inducted first, then New Edition.

Boyz II Men performed "Not Me" on the 1999 Aida soundtrack, written by Tim Rice and Elton John.

Boyz II Men's last album, 2017's Under The Streetlight is only available for download on iTunes. It didn't chart on Billboard.
