Gal had an interesting career, but none of it rock and roll! In fact, I don't even remember hearing a guitar in any of her pop or Jesus recordings.

Did you know? ABC apparently thought she was rock when they put her on the 'Rock and Roll Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' edition.

The reason of her not being "rock and roll" is not valid (see: Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, etc.) I think it would super Rock & Roll for the Rock Hall to induct her!

While her crossover success (from Christian music to mainstream pop) was fairly short-lived, she was the first and the most successful at it. She's the best-selling Christian artist of all time, has 22 Dove Awards (the Christian equivalent of the Grammys -- 4th highest ever), 6 Grammys, had the first platinum Christian album ever, and her album Lead Me On is considered the best album in the genre's history by many sources.

She's always been very genuine, writes most of her music, plays the guitar, and as far as famous Christians go, comes across as more "Christ-like" than most — loving, accepting, non-judgmental. She's a rebel within the CCM business for all her pop crossovers, weathering the "scandal" of divorcing and remarrying Vince Gill.

I'd say her lack of preachiness and her public (and private) acceptance/support of the LGBTQ community makes her pretty rock-and-roll within the context of the Christian music genre.

Plus, she was the inspiration for a drag queen (Flamy Grant) who is stirring up all kinds of shit by topping the Christian charts and fanning the flames of hatred against LGBTQ people from conservative Christians and politicians.
